USNA '89 Website Help--Common Problems
Here are some tips for common website problems:
- Problem: Unable to log in: This is usually caused by having an old copy of the
USNA '89 login page stored in your PC's hard drive. The two most popular
browsers (Internet Explorer and Netscape) both 'cache' or store copies of
web pages on your hard drive to prevent always having to reload from the
web server. Most of you should no longer experience this problem, but
some of you whose last login was a week or so into October '98 may be
experiencing this problem.
Solution:In Netscape, you must clear your disk and memory cache.
In Internet Explorer, you must clear your history. These are in different
locations for different versions, so check your help files on your browsers
for instructions specific to your version.
- Problem: Error Message When Posting Locator Info:The most common
cause of this problem is attempting to enter a new record using the Update
Locator option instead of the Enter New Locator option. I have updated the
instructions to hopefully clarify this.
Hope this helps...if you have any addtional questions, contact me at
